Elisa S. Zied, MS, RD, CDN is a registered dietitian and New
York State certified dietitian/nutritionist in private practice in
New York City. She is a current New York State Dietetic Association
Media Representative and is an American Council on Exercise certified
personal trainer. Through her medically oriented nutrition consulting
practice, Elisa provides a variety of services, all designed to improve
your quality of life and help you achieve optimal health.
Weight Management Program
Elisa will customize a safe, comprehensive and scientifically based
8-week weight management program to help you stop dieting once and for
all, and learn to eat and live more sensibly. You will learn how
to make gradual and realistic dietary and lifestyle changes to achieve
and maintain a healthier body weight.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Elisa will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your medical, nutritional,
weight, social, and family history. At follow-up visits, she will
provide in-depth nutritional counseling for those with chronic diseases,
high cholesterol, or digestive disorders. She also works with those
who have special needs including infants and children, adolescents, pregnant
or postpartum women, athletes, or those who follow special diets (e.g vegetarians).
Background
Prior to starting a nutrition consulting practice in New York City,
Elisa graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Psychology
and from New York University with an MS in Clinical Nutrition. In
addition to private counseling, Elisa spreads the word about good nutrition
and a healthy lifestyle through media interviews, and has appeared on Fox's
Good
Day New York, The 10 O'Clock News, and Fox
Five Live, on the Food Network's Recipe for Health,
and on MSG Metro Learning Channel's School's Out, Metro
Health and The Health Show. Elisa also lectures
for various community groups and writes articles on timely nutrition topics.
Her work has appeared in Environmental Nutrition, a national newsletter,
and in SIRS Researcher, and electronic database. Through all
her activities, Elisa promotes a sensible lifelong approach to improved
eating and lifestyle behaviors, and enjoys working with others toward achieving
their health and fitness goals.
