Who is MEG Fitness?

Marjorie is the owner of MEG Fitness, which was created in 1996 for the purpose of nutrition and fitness education, for the person wishing to become more healthy through diet and exercise.

Her background in fitness and nutrition is extensive. In 1982, she began teaching exercise to music classes, and in 1990 graduated from Loma Linda University with a bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.

For 6 years, Margie worked as a clinical dietitian, focusing on trauma and neurosurgery patients. Besides being a Registered Dietitian, Margie is also a Certified Personal Trainer though ACE and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Services offered
Marjorie offers both nutrition counseling and personal training services, all in the privacy of your own home in the San Bernardino County area of California.

Nutrition
Primary emphasis is sports nutrition education, medical nutrition therapy for medical conditions, as well as functional nutrition counseling for such conditions as irritable bowel syndrome. She also often counsels clients on the use of nutritional and sports supplements.

Personal Training
Her fitness expertise primarily focuses on the previously unfit adult and incorporates core, balance, cardio, flexibility and functional training, as well as weight training for strength or toning, depending on the clientÂ’s goals and needs. Post-rehab training is a particular specialty, as well.

Speaker
Marjorie is a busy speaker. Previous audiences have included Elderhostel, National Brain Tumor Association, Students Run LA, Senior Winter Games, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Strength & Conditioning Association, local dietetics associations, as well as other local community groups.

Topics Margie has spoken on include; Health & Fitness in the Older Years, Fitness and Exercise Myths, The Stability Ball in Personal Training, Exercise with Multiple Sclerosis, The RD and Medicinal Herbs, Sports Nutrition for Children; Preparing for the LA Marathon, Evaluation of Body For Life, as well as other topics.

Interests and Other Commitments
Marjorie has written weekly columns for local newspapers, is the sponsor chairperson for Senior Winter Games, nutrition consultant for Washington State Potato Commission, and is a member of the NSCA Personal Trainer Special Interest Group executive committee. She also covers as the relief dietitian for the small local community hospital.

Margie a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), American Council of Exercise, Nutrition in Complementary Care ADA Dietetic Practice Group (DPG) and the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionists ADA DPG.
